Even though I WISH the internet would kill the witless religion I doubt that it will, simply because some people are TOO LAZY to look anything up ... myself included
Case in point:
Do I believe in God: yes, do I believe in the God of the bible? NO, why, cause of something I read on the internet, but have I done the research myself? NO. Why not? lazy, don't have time, would rather just read JWD and get to that stuff later .
In the meantime ... life is just sooooo much better being free to do what I want, when I want, IF I want.
(tamtam of the 'and I still have love for God' class and I try to be good to people cause it's the right thing to do ... I don't need no damn list to figure the sh*t out')

JW's are LOSING IT
by GetBusyLiving inat one of the last bookstudies i ever attended i heard a comment that really struck home to me how desperate these people really are getting, to the edge of insanity.
an older woman commented, "you can tell the end is coming.. its in the air.. you can feel it.. there is something in the air.. times are just.. different" and the whole time she was manically glancing around the room.
the conductor agreed with her.

When I talk to dubs about this, the answer is mostly that they think it is probably not more then a decade away.
Danny – I remember saying the same thing! What a doofus …
I'm so glad I didn't spend 40+ years listening to that BS! The botchtower has a helluva lot to answer for to the people who've wasted their entire lives believing the myth about a new order! It wouldn't be so bad believing that the end is so near if they could just enjoy their lives in the meantime. That's what REALLY pisses me off about the GB, why do they have to sap all the joy out of peoples lives when they HAVE TO KNOW THAT IT'S NOTHING BUT A LIE!!! If it were the troof they would be open to questions and provide proof for their wacky doctrines, and wouldn't throw out everybody with a brain capable of cognitive thought ... ok, I'm getting on a tirade here ... back to work

What would you do ?
by Es inwhat would you do if you knew someone had no respect for you and only associates with you coz they have to????
for months i couldnt understand why this particular person said things to me and acted a certain way to me and it only just hit me this weekend that this person actually just doesnt respect me, doesnt respect my feelings, my thoughts nothing.
and only associates with me coz she has to.

I've been in the same situation es and I handled it poorly. If I could go back, I would simply 1) Be myself at all times and not give into the 'bend over backwards to please other's response. 2) Speak up for myself, respectfully question them when they make off the wall remarks rather than ignore them, try to understand then be understood (Steve Covey) This will earn respect from these types of people when they realize they can't put you down to your face and get away with it.
The reason I would do this is because it would make things easier on both me and my partner. He wouldn't have to get in the middle or choose sides and I could walk into any situation knowing I could handle myself.

Chances are, most getting df'd are "mentally ill", I suppose. "Apostates" MUST be in this category.
That's right min ... I am INSANELY happy to have left that organization I'm GOING OUT OF MY MIND with joy in living a life of freedom I must have been NUTS to join a cult in the first place (tamtam of the 'I'm not crazy, you're crazy' class )

A VERY PECULIAR FEELING (and a pleasant one at that)
by Terry ini work at a bookstore that buys books for cash directly from the public.. we get maybe eighty or ninety people a day lugging in horrendously filthy boxes filled with roach droppings, mold, ancient dust and, oh yes, books.. among these books there is the occasional "find".. but, mostly (and disappointingly) it is 97% garbage.. today a fellow brought in three boxes full of typical dusty and unkempt books to sell his aunt was "getting rid of" that he thought he'd convert into easy cash.. i took his i.d.
and phone number and then looked at the boxes.. they were all jehovah's witness books!
bound volumes going back to the 50's, all the booklets, books, concordance, interlinear, bibles, etc.

Congratulations T. I believe you did the best thing one could possibly do with that garbage ... put it in the trash!
Yes, I know some of it may have been useful in researching and refuting current dubs, but there's are many other places one can get that info. without re-selling the WTS- BS.

Dubs are sick people
by gringojj ini notice that when my wife misses meetings( about 60 percent of the time she does) she always tells her study person she wasnt feeling well.
her sister uses that excuse all the time too.
even her mom who has been in it 30 yrs often is too ill to go to the meetings.

Along with illness there are anxiety attacks. I remember telling an elder I felt very anxious at the meetings at times, even hyperventilating. He said one time when he was on the platform he had a vision of himself running out of the kingdumb hall. Made me go hmmmmmm. He quickly dropped the subject though ... very intelligent man, his wife too. She was anxious too ... told me her hubby says she thinks too much (she had been a pio but dropped out). I wonder if they are still in.
